Discrete breathers in a triangular <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mml:mi>β</mml:mi></mml:math> -Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou lattice

A practical approach to the search for (quasi-) discrete breathers (DBs) in a triangular $\ensuremath{\beta}$-FPUT lattice (after Fermi, Pasta, Ulam, and Tsingou) is proposed. DBs are obtained by superimposing localizing functions on delocalized nonlinear vibrational modes (DNVMs) having frequencies above phonon spectrum of lattice. Zero-dimensional one-dimensional obtained. The former ones localized both spatial dimensions, latter only one dimension. Among DBs, two families considered: first based DNVMs lattice, second chain. We speculate that our systematic reveals all possible types spatially oscillations with bifurcating from upper edge band as analyzed.
